Sussex’s rich history will be revisited this August bank holiday, 24-26 August, as Arundel Castle enters a time warp for 12,000 Years of Combat.
From the Stone Age to the Victorians and beyond, weapons and combat tactics from history will be put to the test in the ultimate who-would-win showdown! Falconry and medieval gunnery displays will thrill, while completely unchoreographed free fighting will show weapons of the past in action.
Lances will shatter and tilt-rail tensions will run high at Arundel Castle on 23-28 July as Medieval Jousting Week returns for a six-day international tournament. A true sporting tournament, rather than a showcase, the jousting week at Arundel Castle is regarded by competitors as a true test of skill.
Set beneath the ancient Castle, it is the longest jousting tournament of its kind in the world, and one of the biggest!
