Enjoy crisp, autumn walks across the Pennines, snuggle by the roaring fire in the pub and indulge in a hearty roast
As the days get shorter and temperatures start to drop, The White Hart at Lydgate provides the perfect setting for an autumn escape.
Surrounded by an abundance of picturesque autumn walks in the village of Lydgate, close to Saddleworth, the award-winning pub boasts a comfortable snug with cosy armchairs you can sink into and an open log fireplace, perfect to snuggle next to after a day of exploring.
Nestled next to the local church, The White Hart at Lydgate is just as welcoming on the inside as it looks on the outside. Housing 16 bedrooms including a Cottage located just next door to the pub, the rooms come complete with WiFi and are individually furnished with modern en-suite bathrooms. Featuring wooden beams and cottage-style décor with a modern twist, these rooms are all unique, filled with character and the perfect place to enjoy a countryside break.
The White Hart also boasts three dining areas: The Brasserie Barn Room, The Brasserie Old Tap Room and The Brasserie Dining Room, which all serve an extensive menu that can be enjoyed across the pub. With dishes including the likes of crispy haddock with hand cut chips, mushy peas and tartare sauce, Cumberland sausage with onion mash and cider gravy and a sumptuous Sunday lunch with a roast rump of beef, Yorkshire pudding and red wine sauce, there’s something for everyone to enjoy after a bracing walk in the hills.
The White Hart also serves a fabulous range of refreshments from craft beers and cask ales to an extensive wine list to suit all tastes and budgets. The pub is dog friendly too and provides delicious treats for every furry customer.
